I have been taking a photo a day in order to create a photo diary for the year. Below are my Pictures for February.
This month I decided to go processed food free as an experiment; this included refined sugar, white flour and a few other odds and ends as I saw fit. For me this was quite a change. I love cereal and bread and pasta; all great carbs, but for the month I had non. I also don’t particularly like cooking – which features frequently when most of your food starts as raw meat and veg. Overall it was successful, I discovered a variety of alternative pizza bases using sweet potato or cauliflower and made curries and stews from scratch. I baked using alternative flours and honey. I snacked on home popped popcorn and breakfasted on fruit and nuts. I’ve added photo’s of some of the recipes I tied out. I liked my food during the month but oh how I hated trying to think up a menu for the week to ensure I bought suitable foods. I am now enjoying cereal again, but still like to make my own pizza bases.
Another feature of this month is tennis lessons. The adult lessons locally were advertising the first month free, and then they’re quite reasonably priced. I never played tennis growing up but started some group lessons a year or so ago before moving. It’s been great restarting them, and this time my mum is also playing. Come rain or just freezing darkness there we are on the outdoor courts in the evening flailing at the ball and having a wonderful time.

Thursday 18-02-16. Finished a rather tricky puzzle featuring tessellations of dragons.
Wednesday 17-02-16. A safe bet for an enjoyable read. Cosy chick lit.

I have been taking a photo a day in order to create a photo diary for the year. Below are my Pictures for January, plus a couple for the end of December. You’ll notice Jigsaw’s and evening walks feature quite alot.
I am enjoying this fairly non-taxing endeavour. Taking one photo a day is definitely achievable, and even now, having only been compiling these photo’s for a month I take great pleasure at seeing them all together in order. I can only imagine how satisfying it will be at the end of next year, the year after, and in decades time to have such a visual chronological record of life. Even the less exciting scenes and the badly shot pictures have their place and don’t seem to detract from the overall.
I began my daily photo challenge on 30th November and it soon became even more of a challenge when my mobile phone broke, fortunately I do love my trusty, point and click, digital camera. I am one of those odd creatures that likes a seperate gadget for each puprose, phone, tablet, camera, mp3 player etc. So below, in reverse order, is my photo diary for the last 10 days.
I’m going to be completing several daily or weekly challenges in an attempt to add a bit of structure to my little world and also improve in various disciplines. After all, no exellence can be achieved without constant practice, to paraphrase Lady Catherine De Bourgh. Some of the challenges I have been participating in for a while already, others I’m going to initiate over the next week or so and all will be documented here.
